Last night (Monday 7/11/16) we stayed at the Dayton Tall Timbers KOA. It is really not so much a campground as it is a resort. It is a very pretty resort. Manicured with many amenities.
The KOA had a nice welcome center/general store. Once checked in we were guided to our site by one of the staff. They even provided a trash bag that they would pick up at your site if you left it out. I believed them since I saw a staff member on a cart go by our site every hour or so.
The site was level and had 30amp power, water, sewer and Cable TV. The WiFi in the park worked well and I was able to use the Internet to do the blog. There were lots of camping sites, some set aside for short term like us and many that seemed to be for longer stays. They even had cabins for rent. This was a resort and the price was commiserate with that. We paid $51.00 for the night. It was nicer than the earlier campgrounds we stayed at this trip so I will say it was probably worth it.
There was a playground and a sluice box for the kids to play miner at. A new thing for this trip was the campground had a snack bar. Pizza, hamburgers, hotdogs, ice-cream and the like. We had the pizza for dinner and it was not bad. Plenty for the two of us.
There were lots of things to do. There was a pool, basketball and mini-golf seemed to be in use.
The bathrooms were nice and very clean. Very important to me. There was plenty of hot water and pressure. There were two bath houses I looked at. The original one attached to the welcome center was older but well maintained. The one at the back of our loop appeared very new and the layout was nicer than the one up front. I used the newer bathhouse for my morning shower but I would have been happy with the front one as well.
I give this resort an A. Very nice, but you are paying for the nice surroundings. I think it was worth it and would stay here again if I wanted a nice place.
